Find a YouTube Channel ID in Two Ways
A YouTube channel ID is a unique identifier assigned to a channel. It is different from a channel name, handle, custom URL, and user ID. You may need it for API access, third-party apps, embeds, or channel verification.
You can find your own YouTube channel ID directly in YouTube settings. If you need the ID for another channel, or the settings method does not work for you, use the YouTube Channel ID Finder on ConvertResize with a channel or video link.

Find Your Own YouTube Channel ID
This method works when you can sign in to the YouTube account that owns the channel. You will find both the channel ID and the user ID in the same area, so make sure you copy the correct one.
- Open a browser and go to youtube.com.
- Log in to the YouTube account connected to the channel.
- Select your channel icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- In the menu on the left, select Advanced settings.
- Locate the value labeled Channel ID.
- Select and copy the channel ID you need.
The page also displays a User ID. Do not assume these two values are interchangeable. If an app, embed, API, or verification form specifically asks for a YouTube channel ID, use the value beside Channel ID.
Channel IDs are long strings of letters, numbers, and symbols. Copy the entire value carefully. Leaving off even one character can cause a tool or service to reject it.
Find Any YouTube Channel ID With ConvertResize
You cannot use your own account settings to view the ID for a channel you do not own. In that case, ConvertResize can look up the ID from a link. You can provide a link to the channel itself or a link to any video published by that channel.
- Copy the URL for the YouTube channel you want to check. You can also copy the URL of a video from that channel.
- Go to convertresize.com.
- Open Utilities and choose YouTube Channel ID. You can also search for YouTube and select YouTube Channel ID Finder from the results.
- Paste the YouTube channel or video link into the tool.
- Select Find ID.
- Copy the channel ID returned by the finder.
A video link is useful when a channel has a handle or URL that is difficult to copy. As long as the video belongs to the channel you want, the finder can return that channel’s ID.
Check That You Copied the Right ID
Before pasting the ID into another service, compare it with the value you found. Do not copy the video ID by mistake. A video ID identifies one specific upload, while a channel ID identifies the entire YouTube channel.
You should also avoid using a channel handle when a service requests the channel ID. A handle usually begins with an @ symbol and is designed for a public channel address. It is not the same identifier shown in YouTube’s advanced settings.
If you used a video URL with ConvertResize, confirm that the video belongs to the intended channel before using the result. This matters when you are checking a creator with a similar name or when several channels have nearly identical branding.
When Each Method Makes Sense
Use YouTube settings when you own or manage the channel and can sign in. It gives you the ID directly from the channel account area.
Use the ConvertResize YouTube Channel ID Finder when you need an ID for another public channel, when you only have a video link, or when you cannot locate the ID through YouTube settings. Keep the original channel or video URL nearby until you finish your task so you can verify the result if needed.
Once you have the correct YouTube channel ID, save it somewhere you can find later. It should stay separate from your channel handle, channel URL, and individual video IDs.
