Cancel Netflix from a web browser
You need to use a web browser to cancel your Netflix subscription. The Netflix app on your phone and the app on your TV do not provide the cancellation steps shown here.
You can use a desktop browser, or open a browser on your iPhone or Android phone. Go to Netflix.com, sign in to the Netflix account that has the membership you want to end, then follow the account settings steps below.

How to cancel your Netflix subscription
- Open a browser and go to Netflix.com.
- Log in to the Netflix account you want to cancel.
- Select the dropdown next to your profile image in the top-right corner of the page.
- Select Account.
- Choose Manage Membership.
- Scroll down the membership page and select Cancel Membership.
- Netflix may show options to pause your membership for three months or change your plan. If you want to fully end the membership, select Cancel.
- Select Finish Cancellation to confirm the cancellation.
After you finish the confirmation, your Netflix membership is canceled. You can close the browser when you are done.
Check your last day of Netflix access
Netflix displays a date after you cancel. That date is the last day you can access Netflix with the canceled membership. You can keep watching until that date, then the membership ends and you will no longer have access through that plan.
Take a moment to check this date before closing the page. It helps you confirm that the cancellation went through and tells you how long you can still use Netflix.
If you cancel near the end of your current billing period, the remaining access time may be short. If you cancel earlier in the period, you may have more time left. The date displayed on your account is the one to use.
Can you cancel Netflix in the mobile or TV app?
Not with the method shown in this tutorial. You need to open Netflix.com in a browser instead of trying to cancel from the Netflix app on an iPhone, Android phone, or TV.
On a phone, open your usual web browser, go to Netflix.com, and sign in. The account controls are available from the profile image dropdown just as they are on a computer. You do not need to use a desktop device, but you do need the website.
If you are already signed in to Netflix in the app, you may still need to enter your account details in the browser. Make sure you sign in to the account that is actually being billed. This matters if you have more than one Netflix login in your household.
Pause or change your plan instead
During the cancellation process, Netflix can show alternatives before the final confirmation. One option is to pause your membership for three months. Another option is to change your plan.
A pause is different from a full cancellation. Changing your plan is also different from canceling, because the membership remains active under a different plan. If your goal is to stop the membership rather than make a temporary change, continue by selecting Cancel and then Finish Cancellation.
Review the options carefully before confirming. The final confirmation is the important step that completes the Netflix cancellation.
What to do if you cannot find Cancel Membership
First, confirm that you are on the Netflix website and not inside the Netflix app. Then open the dropdown by your profile image, select Account, and look for Manage Membership. Scroll down through that page to find Cancel Membership.
If you are signed in but do not see the membership controls you expect, double-check the account email or profile area you are using. You need to be in the Netflix account connected to the active membership. Once you locate the cancellation screen, complete both the initial Cancel selection and the Finish Cancellation confirmation.
Before you close the browser
Make sure Netflix shows that the cancellation is complete and note the final access date. Do not stop after selecting Cancel if Netflix still asks you to finish the cancellation. Complete the last confirmation so the membership is actually ended.
You can then use Netflix through the displayed end date. After that date, the canceled plan no longer provides access, and the subscription will not continue as an active Netflix membership.
