You can remove every YouTube like from your account through your Google Account activity controls. The setting is called Video likes and dislikes, and the Delete all option permanently clears that activity from all time.
Use a browser and make sure you sign in to the same Google account that you use on YouTube. This process clears likes and dislikes together, so do not use it if you want to keep your dislike activity.
Video Tutorial
Delete all liked videos on YouTube
- Open a browser, go to youtube.com, and log in to your YouTube account.
- Select your profile avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Google Account. This opens your Google Account settings.
- Choose Data & privacy from the menu on the left.
- On the right side of the page, select YouTube History.
- Select Interactions from the left menu.
- Find and open Video likes and dislikes.
- Select Delete all from the left menu.
- Confirm that you want to delete your YouTube video likes and dislikes activity from all time by selecting Delete.
After you confirm, YouTube permanently deletes the likes and dislikes activity. You cannot recover it after selecting Delete.
What the Video Likes and Dislikes page shows
The Video likes and dislikes page contains a history of the videos you rated on YouTube. It gives you more control than just clearing everything at once.
Each listed video has an X beside it. Select that X to delete the activity for one specific video. This is useful when you only need to remove a few old likes instead of clearing your whole history.
You can also see entries organized by date. Select the X next to a date to delete all like and dislike activity recorded on that day. This option is helpful if you know roughly when you liked videos that you no longer want associated with your account.
Know what Delete all removes
The final confirmation applies to your likes and dislikes on YouTube video activity from all time. It is not limited to likes alone. Your dislike activity is included in the deletion as well.
Take a moment to verify that you are in the correct Google account before confirming. If you use more than one YouTube account, your profile avatar at youtube.com is the place to check which account is currently signed in.
The page warns that the deletion is permanent. There is no recovery option shown after the activity has been deleted, so use the individual video or date-level X buttons if you only want to remove part of your history.
If you only want to clean up a few liked videos
You do not need to use Delete all to tidy your liked video history. Go back to Interactions, open Video likes and dislikes, and review the listed entries.
- Locate the video you want to remove from your rating history.
- Select the X next to that video.
- Repeat for other videos as needed.
For larger cleanups, remove an entire day by selecting the X next to the date. This gives you a middle option between deleting one item and deleting all activity from all time.
Quick checklist before you confirm
- You are signed in at youtube.com.
- You opened the intended Google Account from your profile avatar.
- You understand that likes and dislikes are deleted together.
- You want to permanently remove the activity from all time.
- You do not need to keep specific likes, since deleted activity cannot be recovered.
Once those points are clear, select Delete all and confirm the deletion. Your old YouTube likes and dislikes activity will be cleared from the account.
