How to adjust your Backlight Timeout settings on your Garmin Forerunner 45:

  1. Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
  2. Select System.
  3. Scroll down and select Backlight.
  4. Select between During and Not During Activity (I recommend repeating this so you adjust your settings for both).
  5. Adjust the Backlight settings for Keys, Gesture, and also Timeout.  I suggest setting your Timeout to 8 seconds.

How to turn off notifications from your phone:

  1. Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
  2. Scroll down and select Phone.
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. Change the Status to Off (this will disable all notifications from your phone).

  2. Scroll down and select Phone.
  3. You should see Status Connected.  Select Status to turn it off. You should see Status Off.  This indicates that you have turned off Bluetooth.

  1. Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
  2. Scroll down and select Wrist Heart Rate.
  3. Change the Status to Off.

How to turn off Activity Tracking on your Garmin Forerunner 45:

  1. Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
  2. Scroll and select Activity Tracking.
  3. Select the Status to turn it Off.
