Background apps can be great for convenience but can also drain your battery or slow down your phone.

Follow the steps below to Turn Off Background apps on Android:

  1. Open the settings on your Android phone or tablet.
  2. In the Android settings, find and select Apps and Notifications.
  3. Then select App info.
  4. Find and select the app you’d like to disable background app access on.
  5. Select Advanced and then Battery.
  6. To turn off background apps, select Background restriction then select Restrict.
  7. Repeat this process for each app you’d like to turn off as a background app.
