Your Facebook unfollow list is located in Content preferences. Facebook separates this into two useful areas: Unfollow, which shows accounts you currently follow, and Reconnect, which shows people, groups, and Pages you previously unfollowed.
The Reconnect section is the one to use when you want to check who you unfollowed. From there, you can follow any friend, group, Page, or public figure again without needing to search for them manually.

Check your unfollow list in the Facebook app
These steps are shown in the Facebook app and work from the app menu. Open Facebook first, then use the menu to reach your feed preferences.
- Open the Facebook app on your iPhone, Android phone, or Samsung phone.
- Select the three lines in the top-left corner to open the menu.
- Scroll down and select Settings & privacy.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down to the Preferences section.
- Select Content preferences.
- Select Reconnect.
You will now see the list of people, groups, and Pages that you have unfollowed. This is your Facebook unfollow list. It is useful when you remember removing an account from your feed but cannot remember its name or cannot find it again through search.
Refollow someone from the Reconnect list
You do not need to visit a personโs profile or a Page to start seeing its posts again. The Reconnect list gives you a Follow button next to each item.
- Stay in Content preferences and open Reconnect.
- Browse the friends, groups, Pages, and other accounts in the list.
- Select Follow next to the one you want to add back to your feed.
After you select Follow, Facebook adds that account back to the content you follow. Their future posts can appear in your Feed again. Repeat this for every person, group, or Page you want to reconnect with.
Understand the Unfollow and Reconnect sections
Facebook uses similar names for two different lists, so it is easy to open the wrong one. Here is the difference:
- Unfollow shows people, groups, Pages, and public figures that you are following now. Use this section when you want to stop seeing someoneโs posts in your Feed.
- Reconnect shows people, groups, Pages, and public figures that you unfollowed before. Use this section to check your unfollow list and follow an account again.
If your goal is to see who you already unfollowed, choose Reconnect. If your goal is to clean up your current Feed, choose Unfollow.
Unfollow accounts you currently follow
While you are in Content preferences, you can also manage the accounts you currently follow. This helps when your Feed has too many posts from a friend, group, or Page but you do not want to remove them completely.
- Open Content preferences.
- Select Unfollow.
- Review the accounts in the list.
- Select the Filter button if you want to narrow the list.
- Choose a category such as Friends, Groups, Pages, or Public figures.
- Select Unfollow next to an account you no longer want in your Feed.
Unfollowing changes what appears in your Feed. It is different from removing a friend or leaving a group. If you change your mind later, open Reconnect and select Follow for that account.
Use filters to find the right account faster
The Unfollow area can include several types of accounts, so the filter is helpful when you know what you are looking for. For example, choose Friends to review people you follow, or choose Groups when you want to reduce group posts in your Feed.
Filters are especially useful for managing your current following list. They let you focus on one category at a time instead of scrolling through every friend, group, Page, and public figure together.
Why an account may not appear in your Feed
If someone does not appear in your Facebook Feed, checking Reconnect is a quick first step. You may have unfollowed them earlier and forgotten about it. Select Follow to reconnect with them.
If they are not in the Reconnect list, the issue may be unrelated to unfollowing. This list only contains friends, groups, Pages, and other accounts that you previously unfollowed. It does not act as a general history of every account you have interacted with on Facebook.
To keep your Feed manageable, revisit Content preferences whenever you want. Use Unfollow to remove unwanted posts, and use Reconnect to restore the accounts you miss.
