I have been using the Sony HX80(Paid Link) for months now and I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality of the pictures and video. Another thing that stands out about the HX80 is its ease of use and dependability. Selecting the camera shooting mode is very simple with the rotating selector located on the top of the camera and to record a movie you simply hit the red record button.

The flip screen is perfect for selfies or even filming yourself for a vlog or tutorial video. While taking a selfie picture the camera will countdown, this allows you to take your pose and ensure your selfie is perfect. In movie record mode, I find the rotating screen to be extremely useful. It can be used as a monitor to make sure the camera is capturing exactly what you want it to. This is perfect for filming close ups of a tutorial or even just filming yourself. The very capable Sony HX80 is perfect for vlogging.

Picture Quality:

Through my experience I have found the automatic shooting modes to take very good pictures. Check out the example images below. These were all taken with the Sony DSC-HX80(Paid Link)

Design:

The design of the Sony HX80(Paid Link) is perfect for quickly taking shots on the go. The camera features a large grip on the front that allows you to get a secure hold of it with just one hand. The size of the camera is also surprising considering the HX80 features 30x optical zoom, rotating screen, flip up flash, and pop out viewfinder. All of that perfectly fit into a handheld compact camera.
