Check your Google Search history from a browser
You can view Google Search history from a phone, PC, laptop, Mac, or Chromebook. The history is connected to the Google account you are signed into, so start by checking that you are using the account you want to review.
Open any browser and go to google.com. After you sign in, you can open the Search history page to review past searches, look for a specific item, or remove activity you no longer want to keep.

How to see Google Search history
- Open a web browser on your device and go to google.com.
- Sign in to your Google account if you are not already signed in.
- Select your profile icon in the top-right corner of the page.
- Choose Search history from the account menu.
- On the history page, make sure Search is selected.
- Scroll down to see your Google Search history.
Your search activity appears as a list of items. You can scroll through the list to review older searches. Entries can also show the date and time they were recorded, which helps when you remember roughly when you searched for something.
If the list does not show the search you expected, first make sure you are signed in to the correct Google account. Search history shown on this page is tied to that account. Searches that were deleted will not appear in the list.
Search for a past query or website
Scrolling works well when the search was recent, but it is slower when you need to find something from weeks or months ago. Use the search option on the Search history page to search through your history for specific items.
Try entering a word or phrase you remember from the old search. You can also search for part of a website name or a topic you looked up. Review the matching entries, along with their dates and times, to identify the one you need.
This is useful when you want to revisit a site you found before but did not bookmark. Instead of repeating several Google searches, you can check the activity already saved to your account.
Delete one search from your history
You can remove a single item without deleting the rest of your Google Search history. This is the best choice when you only want to clear one query or one visited result from the list.
- Find the history item you want to remove.
- Select the X next to that item.
The selected item is removed from your Google Search history. Repeat this for any other individual entries you want to delete.
Delete a full day or all Search history
If you need to clear more than one entry, you can delete an entire day of activity. This saves time when several searches from the same day should be removed together.
For a complete reset, use the Delete option on the Search history page. Select Delete all time, then confirm the deletion. This removes your entire Google Search history for the account you are currently viewing.
Take a moment to check the deletion option before confirming. Deleting one item, a day of activity, and all-time history are different actions. If you only need to remove one search, use the X beside that entry instead of choosing the all-time option.
Keep track of the account you use
Your Google Search history follows your Google account rather than one specific computer. That means you can sign in from a different device, open google.com, select your profile icon, and choose Search history to review the same account activity.
When checking history on a shared computer or phone, confirm the profile icon shows your account before you review or delete anything. This helps you avoid viewing or changing another person’s search activity.
