How to calibrate the compass on your Garmin Fenix 6 smart watch:
- Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
- Scroll down and select Sensors & Accessories.
- Scroll down and select Compass.
- Select Calibrate and then Start.
- Follow the instructions on your watch to move your arm accordingly. Once calibration is complete, you will be notified. If you experience any issues while performing the movements, simply try again until you see Cal. Complete, then select OK.
How to calibrate the altimeter on your Garmin Fenix 6 smart watch:
- Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
- Scroll down and select Sensors & Accessories.
- Scroll down and select Altimeter.
- Select Calibrate.
- There are three options: manually enter your current elevation, select Use DEM (Digital Elevation Map – this will use GPS to determine your location on a map that is built into the watch), or select Use GPS. I recommend trying either DEM or GPS to see which is more accurate for you.
- Once you select DEM or GPS, it will search for GPS and then it will load your estimated altitude. Select the estimate to calibrate the altimeter on your Garmin Fenix 6.
How to calibrate the barometer on your Garmin Fenix 6 smart watch:
- Long-press the Up button to open the Menu.
- Scroll down and select Sensors & Accessories.
- Scroll down and select Barometer.
- Select Calibrate.
- From here, there are three options: manually enter your current barometric pressure, select Use DEM (Digital Elevation Map – this will use GPS to determine your location on a map that is built into the watch), or select Use GPS. I recommend trying either DEM or GPS to see which is more accurate for you.
- Once you select DEM or GPS, it will search for GPS and then it will load your estimated barometric pressure. Select the estimate to calibrate the barometer.
